2016 Convocation at Shanti B School

The lawns of Shanti Business School bustled with enthusiasm as the Institute staged its 5th convocation for the PGDM & PGDM-Communication & PGDM-Executive students. A batch of total 142 students, were awarded their Diplomas by the Chief Guest, Dr. BP Sanjay. Dr. Sanjay, a PhD from Simon Fraser University of Canada, was the founding Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Tamil Nadu and is a communication scholar of international repute. In his illustrious career he was Director of the prestigious Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Hyderabad. He is currently the Director, College of Integrated Studies at Central University, Hyderabad, and specially came to Ahmedabad to grace the occasion. Before the start of the Convocation proceedings, he planted a sapling to commemorate the event.

In his address to the students he congratulated all the Convocating students and wished them best for their future. Dr. Arbind Sinha, Director General, SBS, earlier introduced the Chief Guest  and also gave insights on the academic year. Shri. Jyotiprasadji Chiripal, who Chaired the Convocation complemented the students for their commendable achievement & advised them to have a clear vision and purpose for their goals.

Convocating students were placed across various sectors and industries. Some of the top recruiting companies this year included Telenor, Deutsche Bank, ICICI Securities, Khimji Ramdas, SNL Financial, HDFC, etc. There were also eminent first time recruiters like Standard Chartered, Tata Capital, Helios, Godrej, VIP Industries, amongst others.

Divya Dubey who was awarded student of the year for her overall academic and extra co-curricular activities said “It’s one in a lifetime experience! I have really worked hard for 2 years and it feels so good when your institute values your hard-work. I am speaking on behalf of everyone here, this day and moment, when you convocate and step into a career, will forever be in our memories. We are sad leaving SBS but look forward to continuing our relationship as alumni”.

2015 Convocation at Shanti B School

The lawns of Shanti Business School bustled with enthusiasm as it celebrated its 4th convocation for its PGDM students of 2013-15 & PGDM (Executive) students of 2013-14. The melodious tune of Sarswati Vandana mesmerized more than 1000 spectators & compelled them to get up from their seats.A batch of 128 students, all well placed in top companies were awarded their Degree Certificates by the Chaiperson, Shri Vedprakashji Chiripal. Present as the Chief Guest for the ceremony was the Hon’ble Governor of Goa Smt. Mridula Sinha to grace the occasion.
The day started with a campaign initiated by our PM Shri Narendra Modi and lead by one of the ambassadors Hon’ble Governor of Goa Smt. Mridula Sinha of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Students, parents, professors and invited guests all actively participated in cleaning the surroundings. She also encouraged youth on importance of healthy environment by planting trees.Tears of ecstasy overflowed through the eyes of overjoyed parents as they witnessed their wards receiving degree certificates.

2014 Convocation at Shanti B School

The lawns of Shanti Business School bustled with enthusiasm as it celebrated its 3rd Convocation for its PGDM(Business), PGDM(Communication) students of 2012-14 & PGDM (Executive) students of 2012-13. It was a pleasant evening to witness the spectacular procession of graduating students led by the Gurkha Band.  The majestic rhythm of the procession led by the Gurkha band mesmerised more than 800 spectators & compelled them to get up from their seats.A batch of 180 students, all well placed in top companies were awarded their Degree Certificates by the Chairman, Shri Vedprakashji Chiripal. Present as the Chief Guest for the ceremony was the Honourable Minister, Shri Bhupendrasinhji Chudasama, to grace the occasion.In his address to the students he said “It is an honour for you all, that you will be recognized by the society as formal Business Management Expert. Knowledge, a supreme power, graces by humility & makes you prosper. You use this knowledge and skill you have gained for the benefit of nation, society and family. I am very much pleased to see the rich & diversified curriculum developed by Shanti Business School on the foundation of high ethics & sustainable development. You are fortunate that you have gained knowledge and skill from talented faculty members. Learning is continuous process. I appreciate that all of the graduates passed from Shanti Business School are placed in the industry. This reflects the quality of education SBS imparts.”Prof Alan D’Souza, Dean SBS/SCS congratulated the Graduating students for their commendable achievement & inspired them to have a clear vision of their future goals. In a special mention, he quoted Shri Narendra Modi about his efforts in the development of the country and how each student plays a major role in bringing the desired change India is looking for.”Jay Sanghani, Head, Shanti Educational Initiatives, said. ”In the 21st century, we are not limited by choice or technology, but only by the power of our imagination. Rapid advancements in technology, changes in customer behavior, higher expectations from financial investors and a general sense of impatience are placing tremendous and often paradoxical demands on the top management of corporations. Dealing with such change is requiring constant modification to our curriculum. Our esteemed and celebrated faculties, drawn in from the premium institutes of our country have risen up to the challenge. The office of Career Advancement which handles students recruitment and placements have set benchmarks for others to follow.”Tears of ecstasy overflowed through the eyes of overjoyed parents as they witnessed their wards not merely receiving degree certificates but also exquisite placements with the highest package being Rs 9 lakhs per annum and average package being 4.60 lakhs per annum.It is a remarkable feat for Shanti Business School to have successfully held its third convocation with yet another year of 100% placements of its students.  There were more than 147 companies with about 1378 openings for 180 students. Some of the top recruiting companies this year were Pepsico, Vodafone, TCS, Parle Agro, XL Dynamics, Millward Brown, Future Group, Times Of India, Khimji Ramdas, SNL Financial and many more.Kartik Iyer, Head of Placements, SBS said “The extensive research carried out by college to introduce newer electives & the quality of faculty was highly instrumental in attracting India’s top brands to our campus.”After the convocation dinner, the students celebrated by dancing the night out as they head from classrooms to board-rooms!

2013 Convocation at Shanti B School

The lawns of Shanti Business School came alive as it celebrated its 2nd Convocation for its students of 2011-13.A batch of 108 students, all well placed in top companies were awarded their Degree Certificates by the Chairman, Shri Vedprakash Chiripal. Present as the Chief Guest for the ceremony was HRH Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar  of Udaipur, who specially came to Ahmedabad to grace the occasion. In his address to the students he said “Education system today should be rooted in Indian Values. If the roots are strong and worthy, so would be the fruits. There are so many lessons to be learnt from the heritage of Ahmedabad itself taking Gandhiji, Sardar Vallabbhai Patel and other…” leaving them feeling inspired.Parents had tears of joy as their wards received their degree certificates. Mother of a student who had lost her husband many years back has toiled day in and day out from 4 am to 9 pm to bring up her family of 5, was overwhelmed to see her son Dixit Nagar on the stage receiving his degree certificate. Today her son is placed with TCS, putting an end to his mother’s misery and bringing home pride.
It is an achievement for Shanti Business School to have successfully held its second convocation with yet another year of 100% placements of its students.  There were more than 124 companies with about 1073 openings for the batch of 108 students.

2012 Convocation at Shanti B School

The first convocation of Shanti Business School which was held at SBS campus saw 77 students graduating as PGDMs. Dr. Binod Agarwal, Vice Chancellor of Himgiri Zee University was Chief Guest for the ceremony.
Delivering the convocation address, he said that every student should value commitment, truthfulness and fearlessness. He also pointed out that we are moving largely into present oriented, highly verbal and individualistic world. We have reached to a point of being self centred, highly goal oriented and automatist human beings.
