Expand your horizon

Dear You,

Identity of Shanti Business School has been reflected in its logo. The first interpretation is that of an open book, signifying learning and the pages offer various opportunities in management education or various vertical specializations. The second impression is that of a fledgling bird about to take off as a freshly minted MBA graduate from the portals of SBS to take on challenges of the world of work.

The major driving force of today’s business, economy, society and politics is a virtual explosion of knowledge. The boundary of available knowledge in any given field is expanding probably by a few megabytes every second! With increasing capacity of storing knowledge and with availability of the technologies to retrieve knowledge intelligently has led to situations where much of a person’s skills become redundant with passing of every year, if not every quarter. Education cannot be foolish enough to ignore this fact.

In Business and Management education we cannot forget the fact that what we teach must have to stay relevant with what skills industry requires. Industry requirement of skills are directly proportional with challenges posed by the rapidly changing business horizon driven by knowledge explosion.

Therefore we must ensure that one, we research and continuously evolve a curriculum in line with the industry requirements, and two, we offer deep concentration in most, if not all, vertical specializations across functional and industry domains that are evolving fast. Along with the ability to rapidly evolve our curriculum we also need to constantly align our teaching methodologies with changes in cognitive learning processes and advent of learning technologies. At SBS we constantly attempt to deliver through the most contemporary pedagogy.
