The AICTE approved PGDM programme of the Shanti Business School is a two-year full-time course. The SBS programme has been crafted with two objectives in mind:
- The student should get a strong foundation in the Theory as well as Practice of Management.
- The student should be able to develop the life skills required to make him/her a complete individual, with the competence to take on the competitive world outside.
SBS has customized its curriculum to include core courses, electives and sectoral specializations. The content is delivered by experienced core as well as visiting faculty from academics as well as the industry. The courses are, therefore, practitioner-oriented and help students arrive at effective solutions to common situations and predicaments experienced in the real managerial world. Students receive international exposure through enabling technology, which makes it possible for them to interact with the very best in academia and the industry, through video conferencing.
SBS is an unique pgdm college that has developed industry-relevant courses, facilitated by the interaction of faculty with our advisory board (comprising eminent names from the industry) as well as with the industry at large. Projects and research, complemented by extensive internships, give our students a comprehensive ‘real life’ experience. The innovation incubation process leads them to develop original ideas and enhance their creativity. SBS facilitates development of persona enhancement. Development of soft skills is carried out through language proficiency including choice of international languages, communication workshops, carriage conduct and poise training & physiological and mentoring.

The SBS pedagogy is a carefully crafted mix of lectures, case studies, project work and internships. These are supplemented by role play, simulation games and syndicate discussions, among other things. Activities such as Vipasana, Pranayam and Yoga have been seamlessly integrated into the programme, with a view to enhance the life skills of the participants.
At SBS the emphasis is on learning by performing. We use a number of methods to give you thousands of opportunities to perform various tasks which a manager or a leader would perform at his work. The pedagogy uses:
Case based studies
in most of the classroom sessions, you need to come prepared with a case study analysis; you need to present your views to the class and take part in subsequent discussions; you learn by relating theoretical constructs with simulated learning through case studies.
Projects
at SBS, the faculty make you involved in numerous consulting projects throughout your terms.
Assignments
at SBS, you need to work on and submit a significant number of desk projects and assignment based upon your theoretical learning.
Role Play Exercises
at SBS, you have to be engaged in several role play exercises which shape up your managerial thinking ability and decision making abilities.
Grand Project
at the end of your long term six months internship at industry, you need to work on a Grand Project which is the culmination of your learning at SBS. This project, in essence, is a dissertation in which you need to synthesize.

Several visits to production facilities and corporate offices are organized throughout the year. Some of the prominent visits had been to Amul’s factory, Wellspun, Mundra Port, Nandan Exim Ltd., Radio Mirchi operations, etc.

The world of SBS represents and simulates the real world of business. Here, academic rigor challenges you to master multiple subjects, work long hours, work in diverse teams, come prepared and perform in class, succeed in the continuous evaluation process, attend guest lectures, visit industries and even participate in academic and non-academic events.
